The Plants We Use

Check out the list below for some of the most invasive weeds native to Philadelphia. For a complete list of noxious weeds native to the Commonwealth, visit the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture's website.

Remember some smaller plants, sprouts and plugs can resemble weeds when they are first planted!

If you are unsure about whether a plant is a weed or not, leave it for a PWD maintenance crew to remove.
