Community Input For Green Stormwater Infrastructure

Step 4 of 5: Gathering Information

Conduct research to find more information about your particular site. All of the background research requested within the form is used for informational purposes only.

Project Information

Gather as much information as possible about your project, including:

  1. Name and contact information of the project leader and lead organization.
  2. Name and location of the site.
  3. Names of additional contacts and community groups involved in the project.
  4. A brief description of the project including information about the site, project history and design concepts.
  5. A brief description of the existing or future plans for community outreach.
  6. Documents that are relevant to the project such as site designs, surveys, neighborhood plans, construction documents, geotechnical reports or other information.
  7. List of funding sources, amounts and deadlines

Background Research

  1. Is your project location served by a Combined Sewer System?
    Green infrastructure projects within Combined Sewer Overflow sewersheds are a high priority for PWD’s Green City Clean Waters program. Check your sewershed here. Enter the address; If it shows up in a blue area, it is served by a Combined Sewer System.
  2. What other projects are located in your neighborhood?
    Go to the Big Green Map to view the green stormwater infrastructure projects that have been implemented or are planned for your neighborhood. You may wish to reach out to the organizations developing nearby projects for partnership opportunities.
  3. What city council district is your project located in? Click here to determine the city council district in which your project is located.The “Address Service Area” is your council district.
  4. Which watershed is your project is located in?
    Go to Find Your Watershed Map to determine what watershed your project is in. (This will tell you which waterway the stormwater on your site eventually drains to.)
  5. What is the latitude and longitude of your site?
    Go to Google Maps and navigate to the location of your project. Right-click on your site and select “What’s here?” You will find the longitude (beginning with 39) and latitude (beginning with -75) in the Google Maps search bar.
  6. If you are submitting a project on a vacant lot, determine the ownership
    of the lot. Enter the address, block or intersection into the Office of Property Assessment search form to find the owner.
