Infrastructure Survey

Finding and documenting infrastructure features in stream channels is an important step in watershed management.

Overview

Infrastructure is necessary to maintain our quality of life, but when infrastructure is built in or near stream channels, it is subject to damage from stream erosion and sedimentation. Certain infrastructure features can cause stream destabilization. PWD takes a watershed-based approach to infrastructure assessement, locating and documenting the presence of infrastructure features throughout our watersheds regardless of political boundaries. This infrastructure information is shared with our upstream partners to assist them with meeting permit compliance and watershed management goals.

Due to the sensitive nature of this information, stream infrastructure data is not available for distribution via the web. Interested parties should contact the OOW GIS manager using our standard GIS data request form here.
